Description:

Our main requirement for our cottages is a quiet location, our properties are chosen on that basis! We could have bought properties on the highway or on busy streets, but we wouldn't be able to sleep there with all the noise and don't expect you would either.
We offer 2 bedroom cottages/houses/flats at an affordable price without cutting comfort. If you want affordable comfortable accommodation without all the expensive gimmicks (such as shoe shine kits, data link, food, chocolates, wine at inflated cost etc) then please consider us.
The cottages are spacious and without clutter. The beds are suited to the size of the rooms and have plenty of space around them.
There are no bunks! Our single beds are single beds. So there is no climbing to get in bed.
We want you to be able to spread out, be comfortable, and enjoy your stay - not be packed in like sardines.

What we provide is clean, comfortable and affordable accommodation with all the normal facilities
- Bathroom, Television, Video/DVD, Kitchen, domestic sized Fridge, Tea/Coffee making facilities, Microwave and most importantly, comfortable beds!

Our decors are easy on the eye, paint schemes are light and clean pastel colours.

We have selected properties that are close to all the amenities but are away from the noise.

Other Information & Additional Facilities:

324 Lane Street, Broken Hill The exterior of the building is constructed and finished in the mediterranean style common to this area. This style of building was a popular alternative to the traditional corrugated iron construction seen in Broken Hill due to the extreme cost of transporting bricks from South Australia. It offered the insulation advantages of brick construction without the extreme freight costs prevalent in those days, or cracking problems due to the mine firings. It consists of a concrete render which is then top coated with "flick plaster", using white cement and Menindee white sand, this gives a durable and more attractive finish than plain concrete. The interior walls are lined with "gyprock" style sheeting and painted. The main bedroom has a Queen bed. The 2nd bedroom has 2 x Single beds. There is a semi split kitchen and lounge area with plentiful seating. All the normal white goods, utensils and facilities are provided. There is a domestic range (Oven with hot plates) for those who want to cook plus a standard microwave oven. No need to squint to watch TV, it is nice and big - 81cm (32 inch) screen. In General: . Undercover off street parking on site for up to 2 cars per cottage. . Each cottage has its own Cooling and Heating. . 2 minutes walk to fast food shops. . 12 minute walk to main street. . Far enough away from the highways so that there is little traffic noise!

Beryl Street, Broken Hill A circa 1920s 2 bedroom Miner's Cottage. The exterior of the building is typical of it's era and is in the corrugated iron style common to this area. The property is fully fenced including a dividing gate between front and rear yards. The front yard is dominated by 3 huge "Bird of Paradise" plants. The rear yard is predominately lawn. The interior walls are lined from the floor to the 4' level with floor boards. This was again typical of its era, was very durable (compared to fibrous plaster) and was a bonus for us to find them still in situ as normally they are torn out over the years and replaced with Gyprock. The floors are the original timber and have been polished and sealed. The main bedroom has a Queen bed. The 2nd bedroom has 2 x Single beds. There is a light and airy kitchen which is semi split with the dining area. The dining area is also semi split with the lounge area, plentiful seating is provided. No need to squint to watch TV, it is nice and big - 69cm (27 inch) screen. All the normal white goods, utensils and facilities are provided. There is a domestic range (Oven with hot plates) for those who want to cook plus a standard microwave oven. In General: . Undercover off street parking on site for up to 2 cars. If you have a sedan type of car then you get the choice of garage or carport. Large vehicles will need to use the carport. Both are off street. . Cooling and Heating provided. . 4 minutes walk to fast food shops. . 4 minute walk to main street. . Far enough away from the highways so that there is little traffic noise!
